Continuing to think about manufactured runs (from The Bill James Handbook)  I found a strong correlation with SLG.  Slugging average explains about 60% of what fraction of a teams runs are manufactured.  Texas and Cleveland are the real outliers.  So Indian ineptitude and Ron Washington probably explain the rest.
