I looked into the NOSS conference in March based on a discussion with folks in the vendor area of AMATYC.

The conference is $475, membership is $80, they did not have the leverage to get the hotel below $329 per night and the conference is during spring break at some school making the air fare at reasonable times to fly over $500.

I worry for their future without their Developmental Education niche. Perhaps I’m an outlier in thinking this is too much for a general purpose conference. Maybe some teachers like the conference in spring break so as not to miss classes. Maybe. . .
