Picture This…Visualizing Liberal Arts Mathematics

NOT BASEBALL

This session got a bit of a late start (Sheraton NOLA doesn’t like Macs).

They include visual displays in all the projects. I have a hand out with some projects and rubrics.

I will probably use a spreadsheet template like theirs to update the Chapter 4 mortgage project in Math 131. They include graphs in their mortgage project.

I like their idea for a statistics project where students create an infographic and also analyze the data. Piktochart.com is a good site for creating pictographs if I use their idea for a new Chapter 6 project. I think I will. It also seems like their rubric would be a good fit for mine.

Although I could have learned about the existence of piktochart at any time this was a great take away from this session.
