Wooclap and Math Type

Wooclap has more question types than Socrative so I am considering it for my informal assessment tool in math class for the fall. I have discovered that not all question types support mathematics. Matching questions for instance rely on pulldown menus that generally do not allow images or complicated text rendering. However since Socrative does not have matching questions at all it is not really a disadvantage.

Socrative does have the advantage of a built in math editor. The video here shows my work around. I actually think for longer quizzes/events Wooclap and Math Type will go quicker because I won’t have to launch the Socrative editor multiple times. For shorter quizzes the time to get a second window open and everything organized would give the advantage to Socrative.

I recently wrote some more about Wooclap at the CTEI Happenings blog.
