The Tigers and One-Run Games

BASEBALL

The Tigers have lost a lot post-All Star Break this year.  It seemed to me that 1-run games were particularly going against them.

It wasn’t as bad as I thought.  The Tigers are 5-11 in one-run games.  You expect even bad teams to be around 0.500 in one run games.  So the Tigers, over this small sample, have lost three more than expected.

As the bullpen has not performed as well as earlier in the year this is no surprise.  Also, it is hard to complain about bad luck striking your team when they are 66-68 and their runs scored and runs allowed predict a 66-68 record.
