Jazzing Up Your Liberal Arts Math Class…

NOT BASEBALL

The Liberal Arts course at Onondaga Community College included geometry, infinity, probability, art and fractals.

Among other things they created an Honors version of the class. They thought this would appeal to STEM students and honors students. The first pass was difficult because great students were not necessarily great math students.

So, they added a Calculus I pre-requisite. They also team taught and made a show of debating topics. They has time to follow student suggestions.

I am not sure we have enough honors students who take Calculus I and who would have interest. I do have further notes on this session, but it does not seem practical for HFC at this time.

Here is what I might do for exponential growth next semester. ONLY BIGGER.
