This session had value for me because I could listen to folks from other schools tell about their situation. It was essentially an additional round table. I’m not sure what veterans thought of it.
One thing I learned was many schools are able to be more intentional about the topics and themes for their CTEI equivalent. For instance, some schools focus on troublesome gateway courses, some focus on new faculty.
I guess an obvious, but essential thing to do is to work with counseling and whatever faculty committee springs up when selecting a theme for a given year for the CTEI. Once early alert is set up that would give another source of information to use to decide how to choose CTEI themes. What will help more students to succeed (whatever the measure)?
